ACAOM Accreditation of AOM Program
Seneca Falls, NY: New York Chiropractic College announced that its Finger Lakes School of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine achieved initial accreditation from the Accreditation Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (ACAOM) for a five-year period, effective February 9, 2008. Pleased with the news, NYCC President Frank J. Nicchi, DC, MS, remarked, I’m extremely proud the College’s acupuncture programs. They absolutely rank among the nation’s best.
NYCC accepted its first AOM class in the fall of 2003. By August 2005, an ACAOM site team had already made its initial visit to the College to assess readiness for accreditation candidacy status, which was granted in October of that year.
An ACAOM site team visited the College October 2007, thereafter issuing findings that included areas of strength and recommendations based on the team’s educational evaluation of both the institution and the execution of its educational objectives.
